Established in 2016, Mirriyu Cultural Consulting is an Aboriginal owned and operated cultural consulting service.

Mirriyu means the light of the sun today in Wadawurrung language, and that is what Mirriyu Cultural Consulting wish to achieve, historical and current cultural insight in the light of today’s world.

Bonnie Chew, the Director of Mirriyu Cultural Consulting, is a proud Wadawurrung woman with extensive knowledge in:

  • Reconciliation Action Planning
  • Cultural Awareness Training
  • Mental Health First Aid as an instructor,
  • Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Management education
  • Incarceration and Justice Systems
  • Genealogy
  • Health and Education; and
  • Water industry strategy.

Bonnie is an accomplished public speaker and is available for speaking engagements and keynote addresses. She is also a highly regarded facilitator, working with Traditional Owner groups and organisations across Victoria to support their Cultural and strategic goals.

She has extensive consulting experience with private enterprise and government, including community consultations and design work across the State. Some of this work includes Ancestral Remains, Stolen Generations Reparations and Aboriginal engagement planning.

Bonnie currently holds a Ministerial appointed position. She serves as an Indigenous Independent Prison Visitor. In addition to this appointment, Bonnie has also served as a Council Member of the Victorian Aboriginal Heritage Council and Indigenous Heritage representative on the Victorian Public Records Advisory Council.

Mirriyu Cultural Consulting offers professional education and consulting services throughout Victoria. Bonnie is also a qualified Mental Health First Aid Instructor, delivering training across Australia for all organisations.
